About Me

I have over 20 years of experience providing community-based treatment to children and families. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in working with youth and families who have been exposed to trauma. I believe the most effective therapeutic services are trauma-informed and rooted in empathy, compassion, and respect. I provide therapy, advocacy, and seminars, directed at developing and implementing a trauma informed approach while supporting self-care and enhancing wellness.

My passion for working in trauma-based care comes from my years working in community mental health. Overtime, I have found regardless of the presenting problems, most of my clients’ histories included trauma. This insight shifted my approach to therapy and the lens with which I view the world. My no shame approach allows for a space where you can be your most authentic self. It is in that safest of spaces that insight and growth can occur.

My enthusiasm for mental health extends beyond my clinical work. I regularly provide seminars for schools, communities, mental health agencies, and government personnel. Topics range from school-based seminars addressing problem behaviors and helping refugee parents promote pre-school development, to state-wide seminars training Trauma-Informed 988 Mobile Crisis Response and Addressing Inequalities in Culturally Specific Services. Each seminar addresses trauma in its own unique way, connecting past experiences to current feelings and behaviors.

I love the work I do and the populations that I serve.

Oh, and like every therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors. But really, I do love my family, and together we love traveling, exploring, and all things food.
